Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) - October Make-it-Monday at Roundhouse

With inspiration from some illustrations by Sarah Walsh and the internet we made collages using Day of the Dead inspired masks, skulls, hearts and flowers.

I cut out shapes out of coloured cellophane and used an assortment of collage materials from Urban Source like fabrics and colourful shaped papers. the kids and parents then created their own collages.

 Some of the children used their imaginations to create their own Halloween themed collages with Pumpkins and Kings using colourful sequins and pastels on dark coloured paper.

The two tables were full and the collage making spilled onto the floor of the lobby. It was nice to see so many of the Roundhouse families getting together to create for this October's Make-it Monday.

We even cut out some mini skulls and made puppets by taping them to popsicle sticks. My son coloured them and we placed them in a planter to decorate for the celebration of the Day of the Dead and Halloween.
