We also decorated paper pumpkins!
A glimpse at the growing process of learning and creating. It seems that progress is the best way to stay motivated. Inspiration comes from the smallest and strangest of ideas. Some of those ideas are frail and need to be worked upon to come into their own fruition, while other ideas are just experiences along the way. It is all my growing vocabulary.

Make It Monday - October 2016 - Spooky Bats and Halloween Pumpkins
The families are back at Roundhouse Arts and Recreation Centre! After the summer break we are ready to make art again. This month we made Halloween inspired bats and spiders out of leather scraps courtesy of Ora Bags thanks to +Randi Obenauer and her donation to the Make It Monday supplies! The children traced the bat templates onto the leather using chalk and then cut them out, decorated them with glitter and hung them on fishing line. They actually looked like real bats flapping in the night.
Seymour Art Gallery - Elizabeth Mackenzie exhibit Unbecoming: An Annotated Exhibition - Workshops with School Children

Again on October 18th I led two workshops, this time with grade one classes.
Using the same methods we did short studies and exercises making faces.
